David Otterman has been practicing law in Vermont for nearly 25 years, during which time he has conducted over 100 trials and hearings at every level of review in Vermont.  Ten of these cases were argued before the Vermont Supreme Court and 13 were complete jury trials. 

 

David is currently listed in the publication “Best Lawyers in America” under the Trusts and Estates heading and he has been given a Martindale-Hubbell Rating of “A.”  He has been a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council since 1994 and has served as that organization’s Vermont state chair since 2000.  He also serves on an "as needed" basis as Special Council to the Judicial Conduct Board.  David has recently been selected as a "New England Super Lawyer".

 

David is a graduate of Norwich University (B.A. 1974).  Upon graduation from Norwich, he joined the United States Marine Corps, during which time he served as an Aviation Supply Officer.  He attained the rank of Captain (Active Duty: 1974-78).  Following his time in the Marine Corps, David attended Vermont Law School   (J.D. 1981).
